Sperss Gaja 2000
Sperss Gaja 2000 is a dry, full-bodied red from Nebbiolo (Piedmont, Italy), in the full, structured reds style. Tannins are very firm and acidity very high; oak influence is little. Those scales describe the wine when young; this is a 26-year-old bottle and its tannin and oak will have softened. Good with beef stew, mushroom risotto, steak, lamb.

Sperss Gaja 2000 is an expression of Barolo crafted from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Serralunga d`Alba region. The wine reveals a complex array of aromas, including dark cherry, leather, and earthy notes, alongside hints of rose petal. On the palate, it presents a full-bodied structure, characterised by firm tannins and a well-integrated acidity. The finish is long and persistent, reflecting the mineral nuances of the terroir. Founded by Angelo Gaja, the estate has been influential in modernising Barolo winemaking since the late 20th century.
