Merchant's description

The Wine That Defined Super Tuscany Tignanello is not simply a wine — it is a benchmark. Created by Marchese Piero Antinori in the early 1970s, it was among the first Tuscan wines to introduce Cabernet Sauvignon into a Sangiovese blend, aged in small French and Hungarian oak barriques rather than traditional large casks. The result changed Italian fine wine forever. Tasting Notes The 2022/23 vintage opens with a nose of extraordinary complexity: ripe prune, black cherry jam, warm spice, and tobacco. On the palate it is full-bodied and superbly structured, with fine polished tannins and a long, savoury finish of dark cocoa, espresso, and vanilla. Elegant power in every sip. Winemaker & Provenance Produced by Tenuta Tignanello, Antinori in the Chianti Classico appellation, Tuscany, Italy. A blend of Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
