Merchant's description

Torbreck The Laird 2006 is a benchmark Barossa Shiraz sourced from the five-acre Gnadenfrei vineyard in Marananga, Barossa. Planted in 1958, these dry-grown vines yield small berries with intense flavour and firm tannins. The wine matured for 36 months in new French oak barrels from Dominique Laurent, which use extra-thick staves to support extended ageing. On the nose it reveals a complex blend of blackberry, kirsch and dark chocolate alongside savoury notes of roasted meat, tobacco and black tea.
