Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Upsidedown is a young American family-owned winery located in Washington state and founded by Seth and Aubrey Kitzke in 2015, with the aim of producing premium wines that express the enormous potential and diversity of this cool-climate region. Artist White is a blend of Marsanne, Roussanne, and Viognier produced with grapes from vineyards located at an altitude of approximately 400 meters in the northernmost part of the Yakima Valley. Here, the vines are rooted in granite rocks dating back to the ancient floods of the Columbia River. They enjoy significant temperature variations, with cool nights alternating with warm days, which favor the development of natural acidity. In the glass, the wine reveals a brilliant straw-yellow color with golden highlights. Its aromatic profile is broad and fragrant, with ripe notes of stone and tropical fruit interspersed with floral and aromatic herbal notes (especially dried lavender and mint). On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant, with a medium body and a waxy, velvety texture. It has a lively, refreshing acidity and a long, elegant finish. Try it with baked cod, gnocchi, or pumpkin ravioli, and Fontina cheese.
