Wolffer Estate Cotes de Provence Summer in a Bottle Rose 2025

Located in upstate New York, Wölffer Estate was founded in 1988 and quickly gained popularity thanks to its range of excellent wines and craft ciders. Following the success of their rosé wines produced in the Hamptons and Mendoza, Marc and Joey Wölffer, in collaboration with winemaker and Wölffer Estate partner Roman Roth, decided to produce an elegant, summery, and casual rosé in the homeland of rosé wines, the French Côtes de Provence. Summer in a Bottle is a blend of mostly Grenache, with minor additions of Cinsault, Vermentino (locally called Rolle), and Syrah. After the early morning harvest, to preserve the freshness of the grapes and their aromatic character, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel. The finished wine then rests on the lees for approximately three months before bottling. The result is a youthful, fresh, and graceful wine, the perfect companion for an elegant summer evening with friends. In the glass, the wine reveals a pale salmon color with pink hues. Its aromatic profile is fragrant and lively, with delicate notes of red fruits and hints of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is juicy and rich, fresh and layered with a well-balanced acidity and a pleasant minerality. It has a light body and a delicate, lingering finish. It is excellent as an aperitif and pairs well with cured meats, fish soups, and seafood.
