Akitu A1 Pinot Noir 2015 is a medium- to full-bodied, single-vineyard red wine from the Central Otago region of New Zealand. Established in 2001 in the heart of Central Otago, Akitu is a family-owned estate that is particularly recognised for its single-vineyard Pinot Noir wines. ‘A1’, made with a majority of Abel clones, is the estate`s flagship black label wine. The 2015 vintage was produced with 26% whole bunches and matured for 10 months in 22% new French oak barrels. "Pale ruby colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir A1 offers pretty notes of kirsch, cranberry preserves and baking spices with hints of red roses, lavender and fallen leaves. Light to medium-bodied and elegantly crafted, the palate reveals perfumed sour cherry notes with a silken backbone and great freshness on the finish." Wine Advocate, 2017
