An intense nose dark plum, vanilla, tar, coffee and dried fruit opens proceedings here. Full-bodied, intense and very dense on the palate, Dal Forno`s 2013 Amarone achieves balance via a fresh thread of acidity that runs all the way through to the smooth, lengthy finish. Delicious now for those who like to live their wines with plenty of oomph, but equally capable of ageing for 10 years or more if well cellared. James Suckling described the wine as "a stunning blockbuster" and awarded it 97 points out of 100 when he tasted it in late 2019.
