Amarone 1993 is a powerhouse red from Romano Dal Forno estate in the Val d’Illasi. Unlike traditional producers, Dal Forno utilises vacuum tanks for fermentation and ages their wines exclusively in 100% new French oak barriques. The 1993 vintage, sourced from high-density plantings of 12,800 vines per hectare, delivers an explosive intensity of espresso, black tar and concentrated prune. The soil’s high gravel content ensures low yields and incredible fruit concentration, which Dal Forno further intensify through a meticulous drying process. The result is a wine with a massive structural core and high residual extract that demands decades of cellaring to fully integrate.
