Carruades de Lafite is created from grapes sourced from the younger vines of the Château Lafite Rothschild vineyards, as well as from specific parcels that do not meet the strict criteria for inclusion in the Grand Vin. Despite being the second wine, Carruades de Lafite still upholds the reputation and quality associated with the Lafite Rothschild estate. The 2021 vintage is a blend composed of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. The nose evokes aromas of summer berries, pencil-lead, spices and beautifully integrated oak. On the palate, this is a juicy, medium-bodied wine, with polished tannins and an appealing freshness. Best enjoyed after 2027.
