Château Lafite Rothschild`s second wine presents similar characteristics to their Grand Vin, but has its own unique profile, due to a higher proportion of Merlot. The 2000 vintage is a blend of 51.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 1.5% Petit Verdot. The bouquet is rich, with black fruits and liquorice. The palate is full-bodied, marked by a fruity character, firm tannins and a long finish.
