Domaine Drouhin-Laroze Clos de Vougeot 2005 is a Grand Cru Pinot Noir from one of the most famous walled vineyards in Burgundy. The domaine’s 1.03-hectare parcel is located in the upper, more prestigious part of the Clos, where the well-drained soils are rich in limestone. The 2005 vintage was successful for this site, providing the concentration needed to match the naturally large-scaled structure of the vineyard. Aged in 100% new French oak, the wine has absorbed the wood over two decades to reveal a complex bouquet of blackcurrant, liquorice and forest floor. This release is powerful and unctuous, featuring intense, precise tannins and a long finish.
