Colgin IX Estate Proprietary Blend 2008 is a full-bodied single-vineyard red wine from the Napa Valley of California. First produced in 2002, Colgin IX Estate is a Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Renowned for its towering aromatics of dark fruits, savoury herbs and spice, this long-aged Napa red comes from the IX Estate vineyard on Pritchard Hill in St Helena. On the 2008. "Incredible nose of mint, spices and dark fruits. Forest floor. Then turns to Indian tea. Roses too. Full-bodied, with very fine tannins and lovely fruit. Soft and silky fruits. Amazing backbone of tannins. This reminds me of a great modern vintage of Margaux -- but with that Napa shine." James Suckling, 2011
