Cos d`Estournel 1994 is a full-bodied Left-Bank Bordeaux from the appellation of St-Estephe. Named after its 19th-century owner, Louis-Gaspard d`Estournel, the Second Growth Cos d`Estournel is the leading estate in St-Estephe. The wines of the estate tend to include a relatively high proportion of Merlot, however they remain defined by their power, structure and longevity. "Cos d`Estournel`s unfiltered 1994 is one of the top wines of the vintage. It boasts an opaque blue/black/purple colour, as well as a fabulously sweet nose of black fruits, liquorice, pain grillee, and Asian spices. Full-bodied, with sweet, opulent fruit that reveals none of the vintage`s tough tannin, this remarkably rich, well-balanced, classic wine will prove to be uncommonly long-lived. Cos d`Estournel is clearly producing wines that are often of first-growth potential." Wine Advocate, 1997
