Merchant's description

Deutz William Deutz 2009 is a vintage prestige-cuvée Champagne produced by Champagne Deutz in Aÿ, France. The historic Maison Deutz was founded in 1838 by two young entrepreneurs from Aix-la-Chapelle, Pierre-Hubert Geldermann and William Deutz. Cuvée William Deutz has been the flagship expression of the maison since it was first released commercially in 1961. Here available in half-bottle format, the 2009 vintage is an assemblage of 55% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Meunier. The wine was disgorged in 2018. "The William Deutz 2009 is very much a bon viveur who is already giving plenty of immediate pleasure. Bright, youthful and balanced, it exhibits a delightful mélange of praline, honey, citrus, toast and dried fruits. Less heralded than its older 2008 sibling, this is very easy to enjoy now but it has enough acidity and structure to age and develop." Decanter, 2019
