Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Founded in the Barossa Valley by Keith and Alison Hentschke in 1997, Hentley Farm is a multi-award-winning boutique winery. The estate extends over approximately 60 hectares, cultivated with full respect for the environment and biodiversity. The Shiraz grapes come from a single estate block characterized by shallow soils. The typical Barossa Valley climate and the prolonged exposure to the sun guarantee the production of an intense, powerful, and full-bodied wine. After vinification, the wine rests for 22 months in oak (60% of which is new). In the glass, The Beast reveals a dense and deep color with dark red tones and purple highlights. Its aromatic profile is broad and powerful with notes of ripe dark fruits (blackberry and plum), followed by intense aromas of licorice, cedar, chocolate, and hints of pepper typical of Shiraz. On the palate, it is full, concentrated, and intensely fruity. It has firm but ripe and well-integrated tannins and a refreshing vein of acidity that balances the taste. It is concentrated and rich with a long finish that recalls notes of spices and chocolate. Try it with roast pork belly, short ribs, and Texas-style BBQ.
