Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant. Located in the western part of Slovenia, in a small corner of paradise halfway between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, the Klet Brda wine cooperative has been producing excellent wines from the Goriška Brda area since the end of the 1950s. The group brings together around 400 grower families that apply sustainable practices in their vineyards. The wine is a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes hand-picked from vineyards with low yields located at altitudes between 60 and 250 meters above sea level, and then processed separately. Fermentation takes place in French oak barriques for Chardonnay and in steel for Sauvignon Blanc. The wines are then left to rest on the yeasts for 12 months, before blending and further maturation in steel. The Klet Brda De Baguer Chardonnay - Sauvignon Blanc is a wine with a bright golden color and some greenish nuances. On the nose, it reveals a fresh and fruity aromatic profile with notes of citrus and stone fruit, pineapple, and some hints of vanilla. On the palate, it is soft, round, and well-structured. It has a strong acidic streak and a good concentration of tropical fruit. The finish is long and recalls light mineral notes. Try it with baked trout and roast poultry.
