Krug is arguably the most stylish and luxurious champagne house there is. The maison was originally established by German born Joseph Krug, who cut his teeth working for Jacquesson Champagne. Now owned by the LVMH Group since 1999, Krug is well-known for producing cuvées that are rich, complex and built to last. The 1999 vintage is a blend of 43% Chardonnay, 42% Pinot Noir and 15% Meunier, aged for 12 years on the lees. It has been described as one of the most intense and romantic Krug vintages ever made, with a very high ageing potential.
