Château La Conseillante is perhaps one of the unsung stars of Pomerol and, in excellent vintages, produces wines that can rival the very finest in the appellation. 1989 was one such year and this is an excellent wine approaching its optimal drinking phase. Rich and generous with marvellous amplitude, this is an immensely satisfying wine with delicious layers of black fruits, herbs, melted liquorice, dark chocolate and exotic spices.
