Merchant's description

Château Lafleur is undoubtedly one of the most highly prized estates in Pomerol and, since the Guinadeau family took over in the early 1980s, it has reached even greater heights in terms of quality, consistency and prestige. 1996 was a complex vintage for the Right Bank that produced wines of considerable tannic structure. This is a medium-bodied and firmly structured release, though it has impressive concentration of fruit, intriguing mineral inflections and a long, lingering finish. It is ready to drink, though decanting is recommended.
