Arlot Nuits-St-Georges Clos des Fôrets St Georges 2005 is a medium-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Premier Cru climat of Clos des Fôrets St George in the Nuits-St-Georges commune of the Côte de Nuits. Clos des Fôrets St-Georges is produced from the oldest vines within this monopole vineyard and is typically a dark-fruited and intense wine which reveals its true potential after several years of bottle age. " markedly ripe and quite floral nose is comprised by notes of plum, anise, warm earth and violets. The broad-shoulded, exceptionally rich and sleekly muscled flavours possess excellent volume on the mid-palate and plenty of dry extract that successfully balances off the still very firmly structured but velvety and superbly long finish. This is very masculine in style, indeed even robust and slightly rustic yet it carries itself with balanced grace.
