Pavie Decesse 2001, a product of the Gérard Perse estate, showcases the meticulous approach to winemaking by its proprietor, who acquired the vineyard in 1998. This 5-hectare vineyard benefits from a unique terroir on the limestone plateau above Château Pavie. The wine is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, with vines averaging 40 years of age. After a careful maceration process, it underwent 18 months of maturation in new oak barrels. The result is a well-structured wine with notes of dark fruit, earthiness and a pronounced tannic backbone.
