Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes 2016 is a ,medium-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Premier Cru climat of Les Combettes in the Puligny-Montrachet appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Based in Puligny-Montrachet, Etienne Sauzet makes some of the most coveted Chardonnay wines in Burgundy. Their vineyards have been farmed organically since 2006 and biodynamically from 2010, with certification from 2013. This release comes from the Premier Cru ‘Les Combettes’, where the estate owns a 0.96-hectare plot. The wines from this appellation tend to combine the racy minerality of Puligny-Montrachet with the rounder body of Meursault. "Vestiges of post-bottling sulphur don`t completely mask the otherwise elegant citrus, white pear and acacia blossom aromas. The detailed, intense and concentrated medium weight plus flavours possess excellent drive on the refined, pure and strikingly long finish. As is often the case, this classy effort takes best in show for the Sauzet 1ers in 2016." Burghound, 2018
