Merchant's description

Ridge Vineyards was founded in 1962 and is widely considered one of the greatest and most consistent producers in California. Produced from their oldest vines in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Monte Bello is unquestionably the flagship wine and the 2010 is composed of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. This is wonderful release with the typical brightness and vivacity that this site often delivers. It has delicious aromas of creamy blackcurrant, tobacco, bitter chocolate and spices. On the palate it is rich and sumptuous, interwoven with supple tannins and perky acidity, suggesting at least another 20 years of aging capacity.
