Solaia is a highly acclaimed ‘Super Tuscan’ produced by the esteemed winery Marchesi Antinori. The wine is only produced in exceptional vintages when the winery feels the quality of the grapes is outstanding. The 2009 Solaia is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese, and 5% Cabernet Franc. The fruit was sourced from a single 20-hectare vineyard with a south-western exposure, situated at an altitude of 350-400 meters above sea level. The soils in the vineyard consist of limestone-rich marl, which contributes to the wine`s unique character and complexity.
