The 2018 Valbuena No.5 originates from a cooler vintage, which, despite its bountiful yields, required meticulous sorting and selection to create a vertically structured expression of Valbuena. The wine was skilfully crafted using 96% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) and 4% Merlot, and it underwent aging in a combination of both new and used 225-liter oak barrels, along with 21,000-liter oak vats. Notably, this vintage of Valbuena exudes a spicy character, bringing it closer to the style of its sibling, Único. On the palate, the wine unveils a medium to full-bodied presence, further enhanced by fine tannins, which contribute to its beautifully textured and elegant nature.
