This bottling comes from Bouchard`s Volnay Les Caillerets, the first vineyard the House ever bought, back in 1775, and is made of course entirely from Pinot Noir. The 2018 is a warm-vintage Volnay. ripe, plush and approachable, with aromas of red cherry, rose petal and light spice. The palate has generous, silky fruit, soft tannins and a rounded, comforting finish typical of the year, though still with the elegance Volnay is known for. Drinking well now, with scope to hold for a further decade. Good with roast chicken or charcuterie.
