Sine Qua Non More Than A Number 2002
Sine Qua Non More Than A Number 2002 is a dry, full-bodied red from Grenache, Syrah (California, United States), in the rich, smooth reds style. Tannins are soft and acidity gentle; oak influence is little. Those scales describe the wine when young; this is a 24-year-old bottle and its tannin and oak will have softened. Good with lamb, roast vegetables, beef stew, barbecue.

Founded in 1994 by Manfred and Elaine Krankl, Sine Qua Non is perhaps the most famous of all the California cult wineries and is renowned for producing exceptionally limited quantities of wines made from the classic varieties of the Rhône Valley. More Than A Number is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah mostly from the Alban Vineyard along with good amounts from the Stolpman and Shadow Canyon vineyards. Just 110 cases were produced.
