Château Montrose 2008 is a Left Bank Bordeaux red wine from the Second Growth Château Montrose in St-Estèphe. Montrose produces some of the longest-lived wines in the Médoc. The estate`s Grand Vin is typically a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, and is matured in 20-30% new oak barriques for 18 months. "The 2008 Montrose has a lifted perfumed bouquet with blackberry, bilberry, iris and limestone scents, nicely defined and opening with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a firm backbone, layers of cedar-tinged black fruit, spicebox and white pepper, leading to a persistent, structured finish that probably needs another year or two to soft. Impressive." Vinous, 2018
