Sassicaia 1975 is a red Cabernet Sauvignon-Cabernet Franc blend from the Bolgheri region of Tuscany. This wine was initially considered a rogue departure from Italian tradition, but it quickly established the gravelly, maritime-influenced slopes of Bolgheri as a world-class terroir. After decades of maturation, it displays a sophisticated profile of tobacco, leather, dried blackcurrant, cedar and a distinct, iron-like minerality. The 1975 vintage produced wines with a leaner, more classical structure, allowing the aromatic complexity and the distinct, savoury depth of the Cabernet blend to take centre stage.
