Merchant's description
Tignanello was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, the first contemporary Tuscan wine blended with untraditional varieties and one of the first red wines in Chianti Classico that did not use white grapes. In all respects it is pioneering and iconic. The 1990 has a delicate nose of dried cherry, spice and truffle. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth with a savoury, dried fruit flecked finish.
