The Tenuta Tignanello estate is in the heart of Chianti Classico. 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc aged for 14 months in French and Hungarian oak. Tignanello was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, the first contemporary red wine blended with untraditional varieties (specifically Cabernet) and one of the first red wines in the Chianti Classico region not to use white grapes. 2006 was a fantastic year which produced wines of extremely good ageing potential.
