Tignanello is a ‘Super Tuscan’ red wine first created in the 1970s by the prestigious wine producer Marchesi Antinori. Tignanello holds historical significance as the first in the region to blend Sangiovese with non-traditional international varieties and exclude white grapes. It was initially classified as a ‘Vino da Tavola’ and is now labelled as a ‘Toscana IGT’. The 1991 vintage is still quite a big wine, very smooth and now completely integrated, with the Bordeaux grapes currently dominant over the Sangiovese.
